Outside render happening... last photos of our crazy rammed earth walls nakd

After nearly 12 months we have finally got round to rendering the outside of the house. While not strictly necessary, but it will easy some concerns about the possibility of long term damage to the windward wall, which receives quite a battering every wet season. As well as generally trim up the mess around each of the windows, which look a bit rough. It will alao improve relations with the neighbours, who i am sure are concerned as to why we haven't 'finished' our house.

Shower 2.0

Here is the new shower going into the hall bathroom, replacing the now defunct Brazilian-death-shower. After replacing the standard 2 handle faucets 3 times in 6 months we are switching over to brass shut-off valves for a bit of unbreakable industrial chic. A nice oversized low-flow rain showerhead, we will need this to minimize the drain on our tanks, as our water soon to be warmed by a lpg gas instant hotwater system.

Here comes the workshop!

A workshop for building furniture and general tinkering. We are building it up the top of the property adjacent to the road. At 4x6m It is a size that could be used for a single car garage or converted into a two room annex. But for my purposes, it will house two workbenches, a lathe and a shavehorse. The plan is to experiment with green woodworking techniques, to see what might be applicable to the local woods.
